Known affectionately as ‘The Co-op’, the San Remo Fisherman’s Co-op is situated right in front of San Remo Jetty and offers stunning views of the beach, boats, and the bridge to Phillip Island.
The Co-op has been sourcing fresh, sustainable seafood from its own fleet of fish and lobster vessels since 1948. Still owned and directed by its fisher-members, you can expect an ever-changing selection of fresh and cooked seafood. The Co-op processes its catch on-site, offering delicious meals to enjoy indoors, alfresco on the lawn, or as takeout to nearby beaches and parks.
Oder the lobster roll (a local favourite), or try the lesser-known duckfish, prepared simply with butter, garlic and lemon—just the way general manager, Wolfgang, recommends. Pair it with a side of crispy chips, a classic potato cake and a sea breeze off the jetty for the full experience.
If you’re visiting around midday, don’t miss the daily pelican feeding at 12:00 PM on the foreshore next to the San Remo Pier.
